Read the sermon text: Philippians 1:27-30
Read the sermon summary: Have you ever been a part of a team? Being a part of a team not only allows you to have a relationship with your teammates but to also act in a united front against the obstacles your team will face. As Christians, we are not merely individuals saved by the grace of God, we are a part of God’s team, the Church. Christians, therefore, must strive to be united with one another as they seek to live a life worthy of the gospel of Christ. This unity allows Christians to act as a gospel witness to the world and to encourage and equip one another as we meet trials of various kinds.
Read the following song lyrics in relation to the sermon:
O Praise The Name (Anástasis)
Verse 1
I cast my mind to Calvary
Where Jesus bled and died for me
I see His wounds His hands His feet
My Saviour on that cursed tree
Verse 2
His body bound and drenched in tears
They laid Him down in Joseph's tomb
The entrance sealed by heavy stone
Messiah still and all alone
Chorus
O praise the Name of the Lord our God
O praise His Name forevermore
For endless days we will sing Your praise
Oh Lord oh Lord our God
Verse 3
Then on the third at break of dawn
The Son of heaven rose again
O trampled death where is your sting
The angels roar for Christ the King
Verse 4
He shall return in robes of white
The blazing sun shall pierce the night
And I will rise among the saints
My gaze transfixed on Jesus' face
