Read the sermon text: Romans 8:1-11

Read the sermon summary: Seeing the truths in Romans 7, we might fee helpless in our struggle against sin. Paul is certain that he will be delivered from his body of death, but he puts it in terms of what will happen in the future. However, in our passage for this Sunday, we see that NOW, there is not condemnation for those who look to Christ in faith! In Romans 8, we have a grand conclusion to Paul’s arguments, not only in chapter 7, but in conclusion to all his arguments regarding justification by faith and the work that God has done to save his people. In preparation for the sermon consider the following questions: What would you say is the main clause or sentence in this passage? What contrasts do you see? What encouragement does Paul give to believers concerning victory over sin?
