Read the sermon summary: As a Christian, have you ever wondered if you might be missing out on some form of excitement, pleasure, or freedom? Have you ever looked at the prevailing culture an envied their unbridled, self-centered pursuits? If so, you’re not alone. God’s chosen people the Israelites were continually drawn to imitate the lifestyle of the pagan nations around them. Despite Yahweh’s explicit commands given through prophets like Moses and the regimented sacrificial system steward by the priests and Levites, the Israelites had no desire or ability to live in righteousness with the Lord or exercise dominion over the nations. Nevertheless, Yahweh refuses to allow his chosen people to be characterized by unrighteousness and despair.
