Read the sermon text: Hebrews 2:10-18
Read the sermon summary: Having spoken about Jesus being made for a little while lower than the angels, in our passage for this Sunday, the author gives more detail about the work of Jesus during his incarnation. What was it that Jesus accomplished during his incarnation that resulted in God crowning him with glory and honor? The author says it was “fitting” that Jesus would become a human and experience suffering and death, so that he might accomplish salvation for his people. In preparation for the sermon consider the following questions: What does the author say Jesus accomplished by his suffering and death? Having experienced life as a human, how is Jesus now equipped to care for his people?
