Read the sermon text: Romans 12:9a

Read the sermon summary: In our study in Romans, we have arrived at a large section, generally, of application. In the remaining chapters of Romans, Paul outlines the implications of gospel for the Christian life. Over the next few weeks, we will slow down to consider some of the commands in Romans 12. This week, we will take only one sentence, “Let love be genuine.” In preparation for the sermon, spend time making observations and reflecting on this simple sentence.

Read the following song lyrics in relation to the sermon:

Psalm 90 (Satisfy Us With Your Love)

You have been our dwelling place
Oh everlasting God
Before You formed the mountain tops
You were before it all
And soon our lives turn back to dust

Chorus

When the sun comes up
Satisfy us
Before the day has passed us by
Before our hearts forget
All Your goodness
Satisfy us with Your love

The wrath of God poured out for sin
On Jesus crucified
Consider Him our hiding place
Our shelter is alive
Because He lived and died for us

Teach us Lord
To number our days on earth
Give us more
Wisdom in the secret heart
As You display amazing grace
Through Jesus Christ for us

When the sun comes up
Satisfy us
Before the day has passed us by
Before our hearts give up
Spirit fill us
Satisfy us with Your love
