Read the sermon text: Romans 9:1-13

Romans 9 is not an easy chapter to behold. In fact some may find it quite contentious. Paul raises the question regarding the promises made to Israel… is God faithful in those promises? But what is the point of Israel if there is now a new covenant? Who exactly are God’s “chosen people” and how can one find salvation? In these first thirteen verses, we will consider how God has been faithful throughout history to his people! We will also be reminded that salvation comes from the grace of God alone and there is nothing we can do it merit salvation ourselves! It is not from our works, but from Him who calls! God’s purpose of election is to establish a Unified Humanity made up of all nations!
