Read the sermon text: 1 Corinthians 15:30-32
Read the sermon summary: The dynamic preacher George Whitefield once said, “We are immortal until our work on earth is done.” This is Paul’s sentiment in our passage for this Sunday. In 1 Corinthians 15, Paul is addressing errant beliefs about the resurrection from the dead. He shows that if the resurrection isn’t true, then we have been wasting our lives. But since Jesus did rise from the dead, we can be sure that we will be raised too. The implications of the resurrection of Jesus Christ are staggering. This Sunday we will consider a few implications from verse thirty through thirty-two and how the resurrection of Jesus enables and empowers risk-taking for the sake of the gospel.
